What is acne?

Although acne is a simple ailment but when it occur it affects the self esteem of the patient as it tend to affect the face. There are some factors that contribute in the formation of acne but mainly, the major cause is the hormonal disturbance.

The hormonal disturbance usually occurs in both sexes at teenage and early adolescence. It also tends to occur in females in pre menstrual and postmenstrual stages, during pregnancy and at the menopause period. People with oily skin tend to develop acne easier as the acne consists of dead cells and debris mixed with the oily secretions of the body.

The treatment of acne depends on the stage and the severity of the acne. The first stage of acne contains no inflammation and this is the simplest form of acne. If the inflammation occurs then the acne moves into the second stage where the patient can detect some reddish spots on his face along with the black heads that are not inflamed yet.

The third stage is more sever because the hair follicle is involved in the inflammation and it tends to accumulate pus with increased level of inflammation, the patient tends to itch in these reddish spots and that may help in the spread of more acne throughout the face. The fourth stage is highly severe because the hair follicle may burst and the inflammation starts to reach the deeper layers of the skin.

The third and fourth stages need special care because if not treated well, it may develop into serious complication as well as leaving some marks in the face that stays for life time. Immediate visit to a dermatologist could save you this hassle because he will give you the proper treatment that you need to use till the case is gone.

The acne needs a long time of treatment and you should complete the course of treatment until all the acne in your face are gone to prevent recurrence of the case. There are some herbal treatments in the market and these types of treatments could be used with the simple cases of acne like the first and second stage but these treatments would lose its effect in severe cases of the third and fourth degree.

The prevention of acne formation is much easier than treating it so, maintaining facial cleaning with medical lotion and scrubbing the face with the suitable scrub could save your face from the permanent marks that may occur.
